A Day in the Life ...
Oh no, this has got to be one of the greatest things I've read lately. I am totally in the same boat. I knew how to turn mine on and off, but that damn key locking feature got me.
A Day in the Life ...
A Day in the Life ...
It's Halloween - do da do - It's Halloween
I love Halloween, my kids love Halloween, my husband likes Halloween. I know, he sucks, I can't help it. I hope everyone has as much fun as the kids and I will be having this evening and have had all month!

Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now (Music Video)
I know someone in my life that crushed on Tiffany. I guess he's always had a thing for redheads. Lucky me!

step by step - new kids on the block
I had such a crush on these boys. I clearly remember crushing on them but being so embarrassed by it that I hid my poster of them on the back wall of my closet. Oh how I miss the adolescents.

Our Children are Mini Adults
My mother and I were having a discussion today about how it seems today's children are more like mini adults than children. They are more independent, obstinate, knowledgeable, etc. We don't have if this is due to the advancements in technology (my 2 year can work the computer) or the fact that more parents are working now and our children are being exposed more to other children and adults. Therefore, are being exposed to more points of view, more judgments, more ideas and so on. So, I had to share my story.
Wendesday morning Nick and Aiden both awoke at 1:30am. About 2am I woke to hear cartoons and the tv and Nick cracking up. I head out to the family room and at about 2:30am I turned the tv off and told the "Good god, just go back to sleep." Well, they weren't having it and Nick was hollerin' about being starving. So, he went into the kitchen and made himself waffles while I was dealing with Aiden. At this point Jason wakes up and tells the boys to go to bed, which they don't. So, he tells Nick he's grounded from video games tomorrow (meaning Wednesday) and that he needed to get to bed.
We all wake up the next morning and as the kids are getting ready for bed Nick asks me if he's grounded from video games. I state that yes he is, did he not listen to his father? Nick's response...
Nick - "Dad said I was grounded from video games tomorrow."
Me - "Yes, you're grounded from video games after school today."
Nick - "No, he said I was grounded tomorrow. I was up at 2am. Did Wednesday magically pass and now it's Thursday? He said tomorrow and that would be Thursday."
Me - "Nick, dad intended for you to be grounded from video games this afternoon. He probably just wasn't thinking about the logistics of it this morning."
Nick - "Well he said tomorrow and since I was up at 2am, that means Thursday."
Nick then proceeds to stalk off in utter frustration. I can see the thoughts flying through his head...
What is he being raised by? A bunch of idiots, farm animals maybe? I mean isn't it plain as day what was said? Trivial humans.
My child is a smart ass. Intelligent maybe, but a smart ass none the less.

Sometimes I curse myself for reading other blogs. I have a list of about 14 sites that I keep up with daily. It's really funny because you post eachother comments and it's kinda like an extended friend network. Anyway, back to the subject.
Last night the two boys awoke at around 1:30am and refused to go back to sleep. I went out to the family room at about 2:30am and turned off the tv and made them go back to bed because, man are cartoons really that funny at 2:00am? Nick fought a little, but man Aiden's got some balls. The boy didn't fall back asleep until some time after 3:15am.
With all the commotion I fell back into one of those fitful sleeps where you're not quite sure what to expect and had the following dream...
I'm pregnant again and my best friend is Kate Hudson and she's pregnant again. Well, I never become "un-pregnant" and she was only pregnant for like 2 seconds. So I'm mopping around while she looks like this...

As you'll witness, my entire dream stemmed from this post. Damn those other blogs, they're messing with my psyche. I love them none the less though.

Dance It Off
So, I bought this "Dance It Off" dvd this weekend from Walmart. The purchase was mainly because since having three kids and 4 years of a desk job, my mid section is not what I want it to be. I'm getting the desk chair spreading ass and it's driving me crazy. I have two problems though...
1) The dvd is kicking my ass and I have to find the motivation to stick with it long enough to actually see results
and
2) I have no real support system at home. It's not that I don't have a support system, I just don't have the one I want. Oh, problem #3 is I don't know what kind of support system I want.
I have decided to compare my "reshaping" effort to that of Jason trying to quit smoking. I can encourage and support him in all my little ways possible, like keeping cigarettes away from him per his request. But ultimately it's not my deal. He has to choose to put forth the effort for change and so do I. I think I'm sitting back waiting for someone (cough Jason cough) to push me into doing it. Making sure to ask 100 times a day, "did you do your workout?"
Actually, you know what I need? I need Shelli. I need her to come home so we can go to the gym together again. See, it's all her fault. Damn it, I did it again. I'm blaming someone else and not accepting the blame. I suck, there are just so many things to work on. Maybe I'll just buy a girdle.

Project Runway Finale
I can't believe Jeffrey won! I miss Kayne!! I knew Jeffrey would win just because it was Michael's to lose and Laura was labeled a one note and Uli was more of a one note than Laura. BUT JEFFREY!! He was such a prick.
I need to give him some consideration though. He is a recovering addict and I have a few of those in my life and I've got to give props to anyone who comes out successful on the other end, but none of my people are so bitchy. Ah, but such is the life of reality tv and the magic of editing. For all we know someone called him a monkey humping douch bag and that sent him for rant and guess which part they chose for tv?
Overall, it's just a tv show right and my fave got kicked out for likely Elvis and proms too much. C'est la vie.

Sleep Number Beds
If you own a sleep number bed, which side do you have sex on? I mean the point of the bed is so that each partner can have their own number. So, do you kick it on the side of the individual that will be on bottom? What if neither of you are on bottom? Let's take a moment to think of that...Do you set each side to equal firmness in case there's some rolling? I'm just asking the logical questions, people.

Happy Anniversary
Well today my sister has been married for 20 years. I only remember this because I was six when she was married and seven when my first niece was born. I can't believe it's been that long ago. At the time I had a crush on my brother-in-law's nephew. How's that for a crazy link? I guess it's true though, with lots of hard work, lots of love, and a hell of a lot of luck... things can last. Congrats you guys!!

Oh T.V., What are You Doing to Me?
See if you know me at all, you know I'm obsessed with t.v. and movies. Right now, I'm trying to figure out what the hell TV is doing to me! First, let me give you my line up so you can see how my obsession runs...
Monday - How I Met Your Mother, The Class, and Studio 60
Tuesday - NCIS
Wednesday - nothing since Justice isn't on right now
Thursday - Survivor, CSI, and Shark
Friday - Ghost Whisperer
So, you can see I have a problem. You know you have a problem when you insist on watching something almost everyone night of the week right?
Back to my upset nature right now. What are they doing with The Class? Which is now probably one of the funniest shows on TV! Total potential unknown from the season premiere, but awesome show as of yet. BUT... We already have the old school couple rekindled even though she's married. What to do, what to do? You get those old butterflies in the tummy back, but you're an adult now with commitments. Then you have the totally awesome, but totally accident prone couple of "dorks." My second favorite couple of the show. We've all known these people. The "I don't quite fit it," "I'm smart and funny, but you'd never have known it during my school days." Now they have to turn him into a cheater. Damn it, we already have one cheater on the show. Do we really need two? Yes, it made for a good story plot but don't let Richie cheat. Oh yeah, too late. My favorite couple, not even a couple! It's Ethan and Kat, because who hasn't wanted to dare someone to try every flavor of ice cream (or yogurt in this matter) and then walk away without buying something. I just love the chemistry there. Talking of chemistry, I love how Holly, Kyle, and his boyfriend interact. You couldn't ask for better writers.
Okay, I've rambled. I just got upset when yet another cheating scenario was introduced. Couldn't they have given him a disease or something? Hit by a bus? Dual personalities? I'm just sayin'.

I saw my cousin today
It turns that one of my cousins manages the Village Market that is within walking distance from my office. So, when I went to go get my Boss' Day gift I stopped by and said hi. It was slightly humorous because it took her awhile to place me. She immediately recognized Mom's name, but it took a minute to figure out which one I was. It was a nice visit though and we exchanged phone numbers and addresses, talk a bit about the family, and finished by saying it was nice to see each other again.
I figured it felt the exact same way it does when you run into someone you went to school with, but haven't seen since graduation. That I know I should know you, pleasantly ask what has been happening, and then stand there and try to figure out what to say next feeling. Nevermind, it was nice to see that she's doing well and that's all that matters.

So Excited
Best friend in Italy just called me today. YEA!! I'm not sure how long it's been since we talked and I'm so happy we got the chance. Unfortunately I was at work, so we didn't get to talk for long and I'm sure it's pretty pricey for her. Got to go for now, but isn't that great!

Back in Town
Well, we're back in town. We had a wonderful trip and when I get a chance to download the pictures, I'll post some. I even got video of one of our days. We visited the site of the new house and played at the barn and on the huge dirt piled caused by the trucks digging the area for the basement. We then went back to the house and made a bon fire. The kids thought that was great and we cooked dinner over the fire (hotdogs and marshmallows). Overall our trip was great even the drive wasn't bad, considering we had 5 people in a 5 seater car. The welcome home hasn't been that great. The kids are already fighting, Jason is already disciplining, and I'm already thinking about getting away again. Well, I guess that's all I've got for now. I need to go finish laundry and get ready for tomorrow. Talk to you soon.

Out of Town
I'm so looking forward to going out of town. I think I need a break from the hussle and bussle of life; you know that 8-5 part of my life. Hopefully I will return refreshed and anew.
Cheryl, the kids, and I will be leaving Wednesday morning and won't be returning until Sunday. We're heading up to Indiana to visit some extended family. It should be a fun trip. I'll try to post pictures if I can. It may have to wait until I get home though.

Daisies

My daisies were in a parade. Aren't the just the cutest? This weekend was the Oktoberfest and we marched in our first parade ever. This is going to be a fun month. My hosue is already festively decorated and I've got great crafts planned for the girls and a trip to the pumpkin patch. What's funny though is that it's only October 2nd and I already have to start thinking about next month.
