Blah
I'm bored. I need to go wake the kids for school and get myself ready for work, but I'm bored. Not a lot is going on in my household. I just recovered from the flue, Nick is recovering from double ear and sinus infections, Moira has a cough, and Aiden just claims to be sick because his brother is sick.
So, who did you vote for? Once again, I voted democratic which should tell you that I either cast in favor of Clinton or Obama. I really dislike McCain and I was quite happy when Romney suspended his campaign. This should be an interesting year and election. I can tell you for sure that this country needs new leadership and change.
Okay, off to start the day.

Awful Dream?
I want to claim that I had an awful dream last night, but it was actually quite comical. I don't want to go into all of the details, but I've decided that my job is on my mind way too much. Here a few of the details...
Characters - Me, Jason, my boss, fellow coworkers, two girls from the show "Make Me A Supermodel", random others
Setting - office and then happy hour at a bar
Pretty much the happy hour got a little to wide and I will say that the two reality show girls ended up being strippers.
Who wants to have a dream that involves not only their husband and boss, but strippers??????? What the hell?

I know, I suck
I know I haven't posted in what seems like forever, but hey life just hasn't given me the chance. I would love to post exciting stories of fortune and fame, but quite honestly unless you consider having to decide between selling one's home or refinancing fortune and being know as a bit overbearing by other parents fame; I have nothing to contribute.
Baseball season is getting into full swing again and I'm sure that I'm completely annoying everyone. Jason has taken over coaching Nick's team with the help from another great dad and I've pretty much taken over all logistical aspects of the team. Last night, Jason and I were talking and I told him "I bet all of these parents think I'm a stay at home mom with all the time in the world to organize every aspect of this team. They probably think I'm over zealous and annoying. How little they know, well except that I am annoying! They'd probably be shocked to find out that I hold a full-time job, manage Moira's Girl Scout troop, maintain a home that includes a husband and three kids, and still manage to schedule batting cage practices six weeks in advance." He agreed. He even admitted to making the same assumption about the woman who handled all of these details before me.
I'm looking forward to next month. Jason got me tickets to see Kathy Griffin and I'm thrilled! I absolutely adore this woman and her comedy. She seems to just say what everyone is thinking. Moira and I are also going to a weekend Girl Scout camp. Luckily, we'll get to stay in one of the lodges with actual bathrooms. I just went on one of these weekends alone a few months ago and had a blast. I really hope she enjoys it.
Other than that, there's not a lot going on. I've discovered that no one, and I mean no one, is making ends meet anymore. Everyone is struggling and that's really sad. I wish everyone financial success in 2008, even if it only means making every bill on time; to me that would be success!

Sleepovers
Aiden: "Mom, I want a sleepover with girls."
Me: "A sleepover with girls?"
Aiden: "Yes, a sleepover with girls. I like them. They are my girlfriends. Just like Nick and Cameron."
Oh Lordy, what has begun? Nick has his first crush at school and talks about this girl constantly. So, now I guess Aiden wants to be just like his big brother. Nick only joking asked for a sleepover though.

Driveway Paint
The kids and I painted our driveway the other day. Can you guess which one is mine?? Can ya? Can ya?

Aiden's Birthday
Aiden turned 4 yesterday! He was very excited, had a great day, but doesn't seem to realize that today isn't actually a continuation of his birthday. He also thought that since yesterday was his birthday, he was the boss. Oh the fun we had.
Look below to see a few of his gifts...
Please give my Mom props for creative wrapping of an over sized bowling set and soccer ball!
Can Shooting Game: Fun for kids and adults alike.

This Past Weekend
My test on Friday was a crap shoot. It was completely based on scenarios, after reading the passage you had to answer 6-10 questions with the "best" answer. I hate those type of tests because you know that if you're asked to pick the "best" answer, there are obviously more than one that fit. The other problem I had was that after about the third scenario, I kept thinking "didn't I already answer this one?" BLAH!
I also had B.R.E.A.K.away on Saturday and Sunday. Basically, it's a weekend retreat for the leaders and co-leaders of Girl Scouts. Picture a weekend filled with classes and crafts and that would be exactly what it was. I had a blast! I enjoyed being around women with similar interests and everyone was there just to have a good time.
I took a camp journal class and guess what, we made a journal. I spent the rest of Saturday in CPR training class. So, I'm now certified to administer adult & child CPR. Sunday I attended the S.W.A.P.S. (small whatchamacallits pinned somewhere) class. This was a great class. I left with so many ideas that even my first grade brownies could do. To round out the weekend, I made a Thanksgiving paver. We literally took patio pavers and painted them. It is too adorable! Check it out...

Halloween Pictures as Promised

I know they look all crazy like with their glowing eyes, but I had a heck of a battle with "red eye" remover and gave up. The child with the blocked out face is Nick's friend. I don't have permission to post his image and I really don't want to chance upsetting any parents.

CPS/CAP
Today is test day again. Back in May I already took a 6.5 hour test to obtain my CPS status. A CPS is a Certified Professional Secretary. Basically, it just proves that I know enough about technology, administrative practices, and management to be good at my job. Today, I'm taking a 2.5 hour test to obtain my CAP, Certified Administrative Professional, status. Today's test is based on Advanced Management Procedures. It covers decision making, leadership, quality control, etc. So if I pass, I guess that means that I can prove that I can be even better at my job.
I am nervous about the test, but it's not like it means all that much right now. I'll get a pat on the back from my employer if I pass and the option to retake in 6 months if I don't. There are no financial gains in it for me, but if I ever choose to move on from my current employer there may be benefits then.
I know I haven't posted pictures yet from Halloween. I promise that will be my next post. Love to all and don't forget a #2 pencil.
