Weekend Update
Just a quick spot to update the masses on my weekend.
Saturday:
Saturday was fun. During the morning and early afternoon the kids and I went to N's school picnic. The kids got their hair painted, N was blue and Mo had one pigtail pink and the other purple. We played lots of booth games like smack the frog, which is where you try to hit a frog off the catapult and into a basket, and the lollipop tree (where I swear no child has ever had the end of their stick colored black for a prize). They also got to jump in those inflatable toys and slide down a big inflatable slide. All in all, it was a fun morning and they had a blast.
Directly following the picnic, we had to meet J in St. Louis for a charity softball tournament. We had missed their first game, which they won, but made it in time for the second game. The kids and I were having a great time. There were clowns that made balloon animals and a clown that did face painting. I swear the kids got at least three paintings each - all up and down their arms. I got one too. I had them paint a heart with an arrow on my cheek and write J's name across it. I was so cute supporting my man.
The kids and I sat at the top of the hill and watched their second game, which they won. It was a fun afternoon, but unfortunately one of our team members ended up going to the hospital after one of their team members (that was drunk) pushed him down on his way to home. He ended up being okay, some stiches in his hand and some bruises, but still what a kill joy. I can't stand unsportsman like conduct. We're adults and if my team kicks your teams ass... get over it!!! We're better and not to proud to say it.
Sunday:
Sunday we attempted to rest and recoop from Saturday. We tried our darnest I tell you. We did have a birthday party to go to that evening at my brother's. All went well, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Nothing like getting a group of 26 people together in an enclosed space. We all met my sister's new beau. Can't say much there yet, since it was the first meeting and I have no idea how they met, what he does, how old he is, etc. He was very polite to everyone and for being tossed into the fire and meeting everyone at once, he handled it quite well. I wish her the best and hope that this brings some joy into her life.
