Nice Weekend

So, overall I had a great weekend. That's not easy to say all the time and so you have to boast when you can. I only had one crying fit and I think I just was tired or maybe exhausted would be a better word for it.

Saturday was crazy. First thing in the morning, I got to go shopping with my mom. I wanted some company on my outing and she was gracious enough to tag along. I'm glad she did because clothes shopping is not my favorite endeavor since having the kids, but I needed something to wear to my brother-in-laws wedding this weekend. My mom was such a big help because she understood my problem area (my tummy) and without making me feel self conscience about it she was able to say things like "these pants may work better than those" or "that shirt really does draw the attention to your middle area, let's try this one." It was great and what I found amusing was that my mom's taste in clothing is very similar, if not exactly alike to my own. I walked out with a few items that could all be mixed and matched and that was my intent. Plus, everything was nice enough for the wedding and for work. YEA!!!

After shopping with my mom, I completed with weekly grocery shopping and bought some new bras. Do you want to know how nice it is to be able to say I'm a 36C instead of a 38B? I think I prefer that just a little. Since you know I do go around exclaiming my bra size to everyone I meet. I just was intrigued that it took me this long to discover they both would fit.

On Saturday, I also took the two older kids to the Mills Mall for about 3 hours with my neighbors. We had fun and if anyone wanted ideas for Moira's upcoming birthday...
Children's Place (found at both the Mills and Mid Rivers) is having their end of the season sale and I was able to snag two shirts for Nick and two complete outfits for Moira for $25.00. Moira is a size 6 and is need of clothes for school. Toys would be nice too, but lord knows we have a lot of those. No makeup please since it was getting put on everything but her face. She's still the artist and loves music if that gives any ideas too.

On Sunday we cleaned and I mowed the lawn. My house is so pretty right now. You are all invited over to look. So rarely is it completely clean! Jason's Grandpa and Grandma Brenda came in for a visit from Virginia, hence the cleaning spree. It was so great to see them. They are true grandparents that love to show you affection and pride. It was the first time since moving in that we really got to show the house off and I know I was just beaming. They absolutely loved the house and Brenda had fun discussing the painting of the rooms with me and Grandpa loved the basement and garage. You know he could have a nice workshop down there. I really wish they lived closer.

The kids took to them right away too. It's been a year since the last time we saw them and I wasn't sure if the kids would remember, but Aiden was a ham and Moira had fun sitting and reading the dictionary with Grandma Brenda after dinner. Yes, my daughter decided that the book to have was the dictionary. Nick showed off his computer skills and played really nicely with Aiden just to show off. The boy does scream like a girl though.

We get to have dinner with them again this evening over at Cheryl's and that should be nice. Then it's off to the races and everyone gets to start packing and deciding when to leave for Wisconsin. Of course Chuck had to decide to get married when gas prices are at their most expensive and its tourist season in the Wisconsin Dells. I know we will have a nice time though. We head up Friday and return on Sunday. Maybe we'll stop a do a thing or two with the kids on the trip. Who knows?
