Glad to be Married

In all the craziness of my life, I forgot to post probably one of the best things that happened this weekend; glass was removed from my foot. I love my husband just a wee bit more for it too.

Friday evening Mo got in trouble and tried to run away from me. Well, earlier that week our collection of shot glasses that hung on the wall in a shadow box had fallen. Luckily, not all of our tasty little treats were broken, but more than desired did break. Since this happened during the week, J's mom came home to the mess and cleaned it up as best as I could with an 18 month old simultaneously running around. Anyway, so I Friday night I went to chase after Mo and low and behold there was a sliver of glass still on the floor and it intentionally found it's way into my foot.

I lived that way through Friday night and ALL day Saturday. On Sunday, our potential wind-down day, J was nice enough to

a) search for 30 minutes to find that damn pair of tweezers we lost after moving
b) sit there patiently trying to remove the piece of glass from my foot
c) coax me gently to calm down while removing the piece of glass

All while I was sitting there wincing with my butt cheeks squeezed tight enough to crackle a walnut. It hurt, people. I had flashbacks of childhood splinter removals. No; not the needle, not the needle. I'll be good, just get the tweezers! Sorry I had a lapse, I'm back now.

Long story short: J, I love you. I love being married to you. And someday when you're old, I still won't wipe your butt for you. Sorry, I don't love you that much.

Weekend Update

Just a quick spot to update the masses on my weekend.

Saturday:

Saturday was fun. During the morning and early afternoon the kids and I went to N's school picnic. The kids got their hair painted, N was blue and Mo had one pigtail pink and the other purple. We played lots of booth games like smack the frog, which is where you try to hit a frog off the catapult and into a basket, and the lollipop tree (where I swear no child has ever had the end of their stick colored black for a prize). They also got to jump in those inflatable toys and slide down a big inflatable slide. All in all, it was a fun morning and they had a blast.

Directly following the picnic, we had to meet J in St. Louis for a charity softball tournament. We had missed their first game, which they won, but made it in time for the second game. The kids and I were having a great time. There were clowns that made balloon animals and a clown that did face painting. I swear the kids got at least three paintings each - all up and down their arms. I got one too. I had them paint a heart with an arrow on my cheek and write J's name across it. I was so cute supporting my man.

The kids and I sat at the top of the hill and watched their second game, which they won. It was a fun afternoon, but unfortunately one of our team members ended up going to the hospital after one of their team members (that was drunk) pushed him down on his way to home. He ended up being okay, some stiches in his hand and some bruises, but still what a kill joy. I can't stand unsportsman like conduct. We're adults and if my team kicks your teams ass... get over it!!! We're better and not to proud to say it.

Sunday:

Sunday we attempted to rest and recoop from Saturday. We tried our darnest I tell you. We did have a birthday party to go to that evening at my brother's. All went well, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Nothing like getting a group of 26 people together in an enclosed space. We all met my sister's new beau. Can't say much there yet, since it was the first meeting and I have no idea how they met, what he does, how old he is, etc. He was very polite to everyone and for being tossed into the fire and meeting everyone at once, he handled it quite well. I wish her the best and hope that this brings some joy into her life.

Sunday Night

Sunday night, J was the sweetest husband in the world. For my Mother's Day gift, he and the kids got me tickets to see "The Producers" at the Fox Theater. I love the Fox, I love the theater, I love watching people accomplish things that I just don't have the skill for! The show was unbelievably wonderful and funny! If you get the chance, go see it...

Unless you're like my sisters who got to see it in New York - on Broadway!! I wish I wasn't the poor sister, I know that's the reason I wasn't invited. hahahaha No hard feelings girls, I'll just go to Vegas someday without you! :)

It's a Boy!

I have been a little neglect in my postings, but rightly so with as crazy as things have been lately. I would like to post a quick note to update all on our changing lives. As some know, all of our children are roughly 2 1/2 - 3 years apart in age. This being said, we sped the process up just a little.

It is official that I now have my fourth child and hopefully he's a little easier to care for. I found out this past Saturday and everything was final on Monday. I hope you all find him as cute as I do.

Car1

Seriously, we have decided to postpone any plans for future children. We have three beautiful kids and now, one nice car. I hope you all like it. It's a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. We were lucky enough to find it with only 21,000 miles and it's the only one they had in this color.

As I keep saying, while showing it off, J and I are growing up.

Cheese is the Thing

My nearly 18 month old has learned to open the fridge. He is now in the daily habit of seeing how much he can gorge himself on cheese. He enjoys hotdogs too if there is a pack open, but typically he heads straight for the cheese.

Now our fridge at home is the kind that does not have the handle that protrudes out on the front. The handle on our's in within the side on the door. So, this means that all standard child proofing devices won't work. I have no way to lock my fridge. I understand that most people would think that this is not a problem, but good lord you can't watch him 24/7 and when you do attempt to pee he heads straight for the kitchen. When you need to tend to another child, he heads straight to the fridge. No matter what, he heads straight to the cheese.

You would think that with all the cheese the boy consumes he would be bound tighter than a sailor's knot, but no. He is quite regular. So, I'm not concerned with issue do to problems arising with his system, it's just man - cheese? I enjoy a good slice here and there, but come on who wants to eat it all the time?

Any suggestions on locking the fridge would be helpful. Thanks!

Home School is Not an Option

For those interested in my daughter's education, home schooling is not an option. We have run into the obstacle that Mo misses the age cut-off date for Kindergarten by 26 days. So per our pediatrician's request, we asked about early enrollment. Basically, could she test into Kindergarten for this school year (2005-2006) and not have to wait. The answer, no. The State of Missouri no longer allows early enrollment.

Next option, could we home school Kindergarten and she could then start First grade in 2006? No, home schooling is available to parents in the State of Missouri, but the school does not test for placement. The child is placed in the grade that would be determined by their age if they had be attending school since grade K.

Okay, now what? This is what we need to do. She will begin Kindergarten in the 2006-2007 school year and will be observed. If her teachers, counselors, etc deem that she is above the Kindergarten level in only one or two classes then for those classes (let's say math and reading) she would attend a First grade class. The rest of the day would be with her class, but she would attend the next grade level in those subjects. If she is observed to be over the level of her class in all areas, they may then advance her a grade. They said they typically try to do this by the end of the first quarter, but it can happen anytime throughout the year.

So, what are we going to do? We have made the decision that we will not officially home school her, since it will have no definitive result. We will continue to buy her the little workbooks you can find at Wal-mart and other stores for math, reading, letters, etc. She loves those things! Then, we'll wait and see if they attempt to advance her in any classes or in grade. Not much else we can do. I'm not going to hold my breath, but she does already know her letters, numbers, colors, a basic knowledge of reading, and an above basic knowledge of math. Plus, she's a drama queen so the art and music teachers should love her.

That's it, Mo will have to wait another year to begin her formal education.

Baseball

Last night I took my Dad to the Cardinals game. It was fun. We lost...so sad, but at least it was a decent game. It was one of those games we shouldn't have lost, but just couldn't get back. Anyway, the game was good, the weather was unbelievably wonderful, and the drunks behind us were unbelievably annoying!

I understand that baseball and beer go hand in hand, but does baseball and 7 beers go hand in hand? Really, they just annoyed the crap out of both of us.

Gotta go, kids going crazy.

This is a shout out to Missy

Thank you America for finally coming to your senses and getting rid of Scott Savol on American Idol. Long overdue if you ask me!

Dream

Okay so when a was awoken this morning, I clearly remembered the dream I was having. Now I wonder what it means?

My Dream
It began at my mother's house, well actually her backyard, but my parent's no longer lived there, J and I with the kids did. BUT...I do remember that although we lived there, my parent's still owed it, not us (it was in the dream). Anyway, so I'm out back in the yard with a landscaper and a guy checking for termites. The landscaper just kept looking at the trees and the termite guy kept asking me where the wall was and where he would hit the foundation. I kept saying "see this is a wall, there's the bedroom window, so it must be a wall" and then they started talking about hair styles. The termite guy was like "hey did you see jessica simpson's hair last night on VH1?" and the tree guy was like "yeah, what was she thinking?" and then they kept going back and forth about the damn wall and her hair.

Anyway, so we lived in my parent's house, but it wasn't on their street. No, it was at the entrance to a street that ended in a culdesac. At the end of the culdesac was McDonald's. The street only consisted of about 7 houses before reaching McDonald's. I decided to leave the bug and tree guys to their discussion and began to walk to McD's to get some food. N and Mo want to come along, but they wanted to ride their bikes and I'm like "No, bikes! Unless you can ride all the way down there, no bikes!" *Mo can't ride too well yet* So we proceed down the road. When I get to McD's I have no children with me. I place our order and start freaking out. At this point, J appears (from where I don't know) and I'm like "Wait here for our food, I have to find the kids. They were with me and now they're not. I can't find them. N never tells me where he goes and Mo probably got mad and went home, but I don't know! I wouldn't let them ride their bikes!" and J was like "Chill out, they're probably at home" and I'm like "I can't find them, I need to find them!"

I storm out of McDonald's and down the street to find the kids, yelling their names the whole way. Sure enough, N made it half way down the street and was in some kid's backyard. There were about 12 boys in this backyard taking turns throwing a baseball, hitting a baseball, and swinging on the swing-set. Well, I tell N I'm going home and food will be there and he's like "Okay"

I get home and sure enough Mo's not there but directly across the street. In my dream the house across the street had an identical porch to the one my parent's had on the back of the house (before screening it in) on the front of their house. And there was Mo, sitting on this porch playing tea with another girl.

J then gets back and says "See, I told you they were fine."

and that's when I woke up!

Interpretations? Anyone? Analyze me?

Red on My Face

Well, there's nothing like the men you work with finding your blog. This is no big deal, mind you, since when I first started this innocent posting I emailed it out to a few co-workers. Except, my posts aren't always so innocent. There's nothing like the people you work with reading about

a) how much you weigh
b) how you would like to have wild rampant sex with a movie star
c) how sometimes you just wish you were a man with a enormous, gigantic penis

You do realize that enormous is just not enough. If you're going to be a man, go all out and make someone say "ouch!"

Anywho, I don't think I've ever blushed so much at work. I'm typically the one who has the crude comments that make the boys blush, but oh god was I red. I'm not sure what was worse, the fact that it was read (which actually I like) or the fact that now it is known that I out weigh at least two male co-workers. Oh well, it's all in the breasts and ass. I'm gonna make you proud someday Mom, dancin' on those stages and all.

For some reason, I am suddenly reminded of the movie "Saving Silverman" which J and I watched this weekend. I just have the scene of Wayne (Steve Zahn) is trying the yoga position where you pull your feet over your head and try to touch the floor after J.D. (Jack Black) tells him he's gay because you know...long story if you haven't seen the movie.

If you haven't seen the movie, SEE IT! To make a great weekend, watch "Saving Silverman" and "Corky Romano" and just laugh your ass off.
